When to Review and Update Your Will, Trust or Lasting Power of Attorney

A professionally drafted Will, Trust or PoA will be able to cater for most foreseeable
changes in life; for example the birth of more children or grandchildren, or one of your
beneficiaries or attorneys dying before you. However, it is always a good idea to check your
documents, and if necessary take advice after these sorts of events -
Marriage, divorce, or beginning a new relationship
Birth or adoption of children and grandchildren
Moving home
Receiving an inheritance – especially if this might take you over the threshold for
inheritance tax
Retirement
Major health changes
Even without big changes, some people like the peace of mind of reviewing every 3–5 years.
Your Wills Team can review your documents to keep them up to date.
And with our retainer of just £10 a year for Wills, or £50 for trusts, we can make any necessary
amendments without the cost of having to re-draft the entire document.
